The Dr's and staff don't care about you at all. Even the psychology department will simply drop you because their Dr left. Additional, my general practitioner doesn't bother to find a cure, nor look into issues. She only engages with me via short secure emails, while I have begged for an appointment over the last 4 months.
The people in the labs are always nice.

They will not answer a phone to make an appointment, like a regular medical facility. You have to go in person take a number and just wait. Here is the kicker there is no number counter. So you have no idea when you are next. I’m not retired and I’m in sales. Time away from my work costs me money. Beautiful facility but apparently not enough money spent on hiring a competent staff. I’ve had good experiences in Columbus Ohio VA system and Naples Fl. It shouldn’t be this way.

I’ve had care at several VA clinics across the country since I was injured in Iraq in 2005, and I can honestly say that my primary care doctor here is by far the worst I’ve ever had. If you get assigned to Dr. Nettleton, beware. He refuses to listen to you and only wants to pray over you instead of actually helping you with modern medicine. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a Christian and I do appreciate the prayers, but I don’t appreciate him just blatantly ignoring me or even telling me to my face that I’m wrong. He absolutely refuses to listen to his patients and I’m not sure why. I’ve had nurses and other doctors here express in not so subtle ways, that I’m not the only one who feels this way about him. It genuinely feels like he dislikes me, that’s how bad it is with him.
But in the bright side, the Discovery Clinic has a great staff and Alfie Rodriguez is one of the best therapists I’ve had.

Although Viera VA isn't perfect and there is room for improvement they have help me tremendously my care is good and they have helped me so much not only with medical care but my PTSD. I am a combat veteran and appreciate the help of VA. However they used have Peer support specialist I could talk to and groups like depression groups, PTSD, anger management but the VA did away with these groups which were helpful. I don't understand why they would get rid something that would help veterans, they only know. Hopefully these groups will comeback and improve the quality of life for veterans.

I feel sorry for the Vets who’ve had ad issues. I used to to have some of those issues will appointments having to wait around a lot. But the past 2-3 years it’s been amazingly better

I have nothing but great things to say about our local VA clinic. Everyone we’ve come in contact with here has been nothing but helpful and kind. My husband is the veteran and thankfully we’ve never had any major health issues. A few tooth issues and they’ve literally got him in to see the dentist the same day we’ve called or the following day. Everyone is helpful, kind & knowledgeable here. The facility its self is very well maintained. Sad to see some of the reviews on here, wish they were able to have the same experience my husband has had here. Anyways, we thank all the staff here. Great place 🙂

You'll often hear people complaining about the VA medical system. They've obviously never been to the Vieta VA clinic! This clinic and its staff are amazing! Appointments are manageable in their wait times, the clinic is clean and well-maintained, and the staff is courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. I've been a patient for nearly a decade and have nothing but positive experiences with this clinic. Although the VA medical system has some issues, and patient opinion can shift wildly depending upon the "home" clinic's location, if this is a possible location that you're able to choose, I highly recommend it!
