Dr. Thakkar has been caring for my gastroenterological needs for years. He is a great physician. Caring, knowledgeable, and with a good understanding of people. He keeps up with the newest medications and treatment options. He is willing to refer to a further specialty if this area cannot provide care. I am very very happy with Dr. Thakkar's practice of medicine.

They corrected the issues. Happy customer now. I think they handled it professionally and refunded the money and reissued a corrected prescription.

My wife went for a visit yesterday for her Crohns. The staff appears to be incompetent and here’s the reason why:
They sent a prescription to CVS for Prednisone for the wrong amount. Instead of 10mg dosage as ordered by Dr. Thakkar they sent a 1mg prescription. The pharmacist said his hard copy said 1mg. Whoever called the prescription or faxed sent the wrong mg dosage for Prednisone. This is inexcusable, unprofessional and dangerous to the patient. Also Dr. Thakkar seemed to be in a hurry and doesn’t have time to listen to the patient. So now we paid for a prescription that my wife cannot use. Is Dr. Thakkar going to reimburse us for their mistake? Their policy says a mask must be worn at all times but several patients were seen going down the hall outside the exam rooms without a mask. This place doesn’t seem to be organized nor patient friendly.

After at least 2 office visits and labs, endoscopy, colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy during this calendar year I called the office to get the Dr's approval for a procedure recommended by a Hematologist I see at University of North Carolina.

It has always been difficult to get a reply from the nurses and staff, this one shocked me. I called on Monday they returned my call on Friday to say that the Dr would not answer my question unless I made a new appointment $$$ to see him. The fact that we were out of town and considering a specialist at Duke University was of no importance to this group.

I would blame the staff but a fish rots from the head.

Dr. Thakkar and his team are wonderful. I've been going for years and had several procedures and office visits with them. Never any problems with staff, nursing, or doc who is always pleasant and thorough. A+

What a waste of time. He’s Only interested in performing procedure not treating the issue. Go to Tampa General or the Mayo Clinic if you want to be treated with respect and to get answers. This doctor is only out to milk your insurance

Almost all employees not adhering to CDC guidelines. Why would employees not wear masks while patients are present. This makes it for a very uncomfortable situation especially in a Doctors office. Very unprofessionaly.
